First of all, the car sold new roe close to 48,000. 17k would not be a bad price if the car is in great shape. Second, a lot of people will steer you away from the 96 because of tuning issues. Here is the scoop. 96tt were set to a lower boost by about two pounds from the factory to satisfy emmisions watch dogs and the like. Turn the boost back up, you are at 300hp. The lack of VTC is true. Nissan addressed this with a lumpier cam. Listen to the 96 idle, you can hear the difference from previous years. You will make the same power, just higher in the rev band. The rear o2's, as long as you have bungs welded into the test pipes to keep them in the exhaust stream, they will not throw a code. The only exception to this is if you have a bad tune. If anything, the extra o2's provide oppurtunity for a tighter a/f mixture. Also, see if you can get them to do te 60k timing service before you buy it. Hope this helps. DP
